Dojo Update

It’s been a while since we’ve shared any news about what’s going on at the dojo so we’ve got a lot to talk about!
First off, it’s been hot in the dojo. Really hot!

This week we were lucky enough to host Kaneyama sensei of Gold Castle. Kaneyama sensei taught a really good class that covered the basics of Jo Jitsu (Staff Techniques). It’s very different to the type of staff techniques that we normally practice in Aikido. Everyone really learned a lot and had a great time.

In addition, a lot of students have recently passed their grading exams.
We’ve had students from as young as 8 years old up to 53 year old taking tests recently with Shodan (first degree black belt) being the highest rank awarded.

It’s a great feeling to see the students progress and it’s important for the life of the dojo for students to challenge themselves to be better.
